Police Shoot Knife-Wielding Man Right after Mother’s Human body Located In Wakefield House

WAKEFIELD (CBS) – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan stated police shot a knife-wielding man inside of a Wakefield house following discovering his mother useless in the basement.

It occurred Tuesday morning on Otis Street.

Wakefield Police were being called to the residence when Pamela Wood, 61, did not demonstrate up for an appointment. Wooden worked as a speech therapist in the community colleges system.

The university known as her relatives, who went to the residence but did not have a vital so they identified as law enforcement.

Firefighters pried open a back again door, and before long found Wooden dead in the basement.

Ryan explained that though officers made their way into the basement, Wood’s son, Timothy Martin, 23, of Manchester, N.H., charged at them whilst holding a knife over his head. Martin did not dwell at the property.

Two officers fired their guns, placing Martin. He was taken to Lahey Clinic in Burlington, the place he underwent operation and is in intensive care.

5 Wakefield Law enforcement officers ended up taken to the clinic as a precaution.

The two officers who fired their weapons will be put on paid administrative go away as is typical division coverage.

Costs are envisioned to be filed from Martin before long.

Police reported there is no heritage of law enforcement interactions at the residence and no acknowledged restraining orders. Martin does not have a criminal document, police added.

Wakefield Law enforcement mentioned this was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.

Wakefield General public Schools Superintendent Douglas Lyons mentioned he was devastated to discover of Wood’s loss of life.

“Pam was a beloved workers member at the Greenwood University and Doyle Early Childhood Heart and a vivid and integral section of the Wakefield Public Educational facilities Local community,” Lyons reported. “She will be skipped by pupils, family members and team alike. Our hearts go out to her relatives through this greatly challenging time.”

Counselors will be out there at Greenwood School this 7 days.
