“The demand for online grocery services has skyrocketed over the past year, far surpassing the growth that was originally predicted,” Giant CMO Matt Simon said in a statement. “Today’s families are strapped for time, and CHOICE Pass simplifies shopping with an easy solution that helps save them time and money, without compromising on quality, giving them more time to come together at their table and connect over a meal.”
The CHOICE pass program replaces the PodPass. Customers can register for the subscription program for $98 annually. Paying subscribers will receive free delivery and pickup for all grocery orders. Customers may also register monthly for $12.95. One-time delivery and pick-up options are also available for customers: Pick-up orders over $30 will have a $2.95 fee, and individual delivery has a $7.95 fee for orders over $60.
The Carlisle-based company announced Giant Direct in Feb. 2019 and launched its first e-commerce hub in Lancaster later that year. In August 2020, the company began a $114 million investment that would remodel 35 stores over the course of this year, including additions at the Shrewsbury and Dillsburg locations.
Giant currently has 186 stores throughout Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia. Online delivery and ordering services are available at 90% of the company’s stores, according to a press release. To register for the CHOICE pass, visit giantfoodstores.com.
