ALTUS, Okla. (TNN) – An Altus church is without the need of a location to worship following an unforeseen hearth just hours just before Sunday church support.
The fireplace started off at The Church of Jesus Christ Latter-working day Saints mainly because of some electrical challenges in the church’s major lobby. Significant winds brought on the fire to distribute into the church’s sanctuary, gym, and attic.
Bishop John Barron said viewing the church engulfed in flames was gut-wrenching it’s a spot he’s arrive to really like and worship in around the yrs.
“I viewed them hoping to combat the fireplace, but I realized by that point that the constructing was just long gone. It was sad at first and as I watched in the thick smoke it was heartbreaking,” Barron reported.
He even shed a couple of tears looking at the church slide aside.
Ronna Parker has been an active member of the church considering the fact that 1993.

We are definitely grateful no one particular was wounded, no a person was in the creating, none of the firefighters were wounded,” Barron claimed.
He explained he’s energized about rebuilding but will pass up the a lot of memories he’s made at the church.
